Taxonomic History / Nomenclature
In publications prior to about 1988, the species of Diachasmimorpha were placed either in the genus Opius or in the genus Biosteres.
Diagnosis and Relationships
Diachasmimorpha hageni is very similar to Diachasmimorpha tryoni but has a better developed occipital carina and is not quite as dark.
Distribution
Introduced to Hawaii, but apparently never released.
Biology / Hosts
Originally field-collected from Bactrocera passiflorae in Ochrosia fruits (Fullaway 1952). Lab reared in Hawaii on Ceratitis capitata, Bactrocera dorsalis, and B. cucurbitae (Clausen et al. 1965).
